Fall Is Here!

My favorite season has officially begun! It is now socially accepted for me to wear sweaters! And you can bet I already have worn a sweater. Also I love being able to wear the color orange, and really just love feeling like I'm blending in with the leaves as I wear it.

I really like this look a lot because although fall is here, where I live the weather tends to not get the memo until October. So this look while very autumnal, it is also very cool. And on colder days, it is easy to layer with.

7 Things To Be Excited For - Fall 2016

There's something I love when we transition from summer to fall happens.  The way the air changes and how we transition from the epic warmth to the relaxed cool is so calming for me. As each season has their elemental changes, fall has it's fallen leaves, cool air, and foggy days, but it also has it's little impacts on our society....so I figured I would share some cool things that would maybe get you as hyped as I am for fall! BTW: First day of Fall is September 22! Mark your calendars!

1. Sweaters!!!
Here where I live (in good ol' sunny California) The weather is bipolar AF. Like, I go to school at 8 AM shivering in 50 degree weather and I leave sweating in 80 degree weather. So layers are an absolute staple in my daily life. But with fall I can layer with sweaters without being judged by every other person. Because its SWEATER WEATHER baby! Sorry, I get really passionate about sweaters but I just feel they're so amazing. But that's enough about the beautiful balls of love knitted by God himself.

2.Candles
I don't know about you but I have some issues with burning candles in the summer. I just don't think they mix well with the vibes and added heat of the summer. But when those foggy fall days come in, there is nothing I love more then lighting up a scented candle as I do my work on a cloudy day. So candles defnitly make an appearance in fall for me.

3.Nasty Galaxy
I absolutely love Sophia Amoruso and Nasty Gal. She is such an amazing person and if  you haven't already her book #GIRLBOSS is an amazing read and I 10/10 would recommenced reading it. She blends her personal experience with advice on how to run a business and your life. And of course to be a Girl Boss. Anyways, I am looking forward to this book's release. Nasty Galaxy comes out on October 4, 2016, or you can pre-order it here

4. Pokemon Sun and Moon
OK, time to release my inner nerd. I love Pokemon so much, and it's a big part of my childhood, and my life now. And honestly Pokemon Sun and Moon looks amazing. If you haven't seen the trailers, I recommend you do ASAP. The game looks interesting mechanics and plot wise and I am definitely on the hype train for it. Pokemon Sun and Moon come out on November 18, 2016, and you can pre-order it here

5. Fall flavored things
Everyone has different fall foods they love;for me it's my pumpkin spice cupcakes, for others it may be a pumpkin spice latter, pumpkin seeds, or maple cookies. No matter what you like, there is definitely something special about eating your favorite fall-flavored food around this time of year. My personal favorite fall drink is a pumpkin Chai latte, as it adds a little more kick to the regular Chai I love.

6. Pumpkins
Pumpkins are too cute I love them. From the carving them into jack-o-lanterns for Halloween, to the mini pumpkins that capture my heart and I create a little imaginary family with. There's just something about these orange round things that capture my heart in some way. Last year, I bought 3 of them and named them all, and kept them for the next 3 months because they were so cute.

7. TV!!
Usually, TV shows come back during fall, giving us the opportunity to snuggle up with your favorite warm drink, a blanket, while watching your favorite show. I don't know what you're favorite show is, but I'm looking forward to the return of Scream Queens which I completely fell in love with last year. The plot was super interesting in my opinion, and the mix of sorority girls with a serial killer was strangely the perfect blend. Also Chanel #3 is my queen and I absolutely love her. (Also she has created a new found love for earmuffs in me that I never knew existed)

So that's what I'm excited for, for fall. What are you excited for this season? Did I leave anything out? Let me know!
Until next time, adios gatos~

A New Chapter

This blog is a hobby I have decided to start. I want to be true about myself and hopefully find new friends on here and grow as a person as I document my experiences and thing I like on this blog, whether that be fashion, or life expierances or whatever. Honestly, who knows what will happen

Well, I suppose I should introduce myself. Hello, my name is Addis Gates, I'm 17 years old and I live in Northern California. Honestly, I don't know what kind of person I am. I like clothing and pictures...I own a camera (it's my favorite thing ever btw) I want to find things that interest me. I'm in my senior year right now and I honestly don't know what my future holds. (like most of my classmates) Despite that, I hope to achieve some growth through this, to stick to it, to enjoy it. You may be wondering why this blog is called Lavender Scented Dreams, and to that I don't have much to say. There isn't any life story or passionate love for Lavender inside me. I just liked the name honestly. It's pretty and it adds a new dimension to something that seemed 2D. We don't really smell in our dreams (Or do we? I don't think I do) I don't know honestly if I do or not but I like the concept of a dream that smells subtly of lavender as everyone's dreams are different as well as their memories. For example, my friends don't like lavender, but I do. A lavenders scented dream is not a great dream for everyone, maybe it won't be for me as well. But I should still try, right? This is a new beginning and I hope it ends well.

Until the next time,
Addis
